Agriculture in Lao PDR is changing quickly. The big new export crops supporting the Lao economy depend on genetic resources that often come from distant or unexpected places. In this talk we will look at the origins of important crops in Lao agriculture, and how accessing seed pulls Lao farmers into regional and global exchange networks and debates.
