Who’s Sharing What? Uncovering Gastrointestinal Parasite Connections between Elephants, Cattle, and People at the edge of Nakai Nam Theun National Park

IRD

Who’s sharing parasites? Join us for a fascinating look into how humans, elephants, and cattle living near Nakai-Nam Theun National Park in Laos might be sharing more than just space—they're swapping parasites too! We'll explore how habitat loss and close encounters are creating parasite "meet-and-greets" between species, and how our cool phylogenetic detective work helps us spot which creepy crawlies might be jumping between hosts! Using a One Health approach, we're connecting all the dots between wildlife, livestock, and human health. It's science, it's squirmy, and it matters for everyone's wellbeing! Because when it comes to parasites... what goes around, comes around!
